VP Business Development

The ideal candidate will have Strategic Business Development leadership experience in the Environment and Infrastructure services industry (field services or construction business sales). Talent for building a proven sales organization with responsibilities over $100MM+. Growth focused professional with previous M&A exposure.

Reporting into the Chief Growth Officer, the Head of Business Development will play an essential role as Company continues to scale across new and existing markets as well as adds to its service offerings through strategic acquisition to support significant EBITDA growth. This leader will operate and execute strategically across several fronts: including working with local brands to drive new sales and revenue growth, leading national account sales and specialty vertical sales, shape-shifting and expanding upon go-to-market capabilities and developing the company’s BD plan, being a key contributor to the Company’s M&A plans, and serving as the focal point for all Company customers, all while helping Company continue its momentum of achieving high growth.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BA/BS Business, Marketing, or related field and/or 10+ years related experience
  • Experience in field services or construction related businesses sales.
  • $100M+ in sales quota in project-oriented sales
  • Leading a distributed sales model of a technical nature.
  • Proven national account sales leader with extensive large/Med/ Small account experience
  • Data literate and CRM fluency
  • Multi-cross functional communication
  • Built “up and out” proven business development/sales teams; possesses a strong eye for talent, with the capability to mentor and attract both high-potential as well as seasoned sales professionals.
  • Experience leading multi-location businesses and teams
  • Translates broad corporate strategies into clear, specific objectives and plans for local offices and team members alike

Lead Responsibilities
  • Work with local brands to optimally apply new BD resources to complement existing customer relationships and improve win rates, farm additional opportunity where necessary, and help win new accounts
  • Includes clarification and delineation of roles and handoffs between BD and EPM’s as necessary
  • Be the focal point for development of the company’s overall BD plan. Be focal point to determine how to improve company win rate and how to best deploy BD and EPM resources for revenue growth
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell a full suite of environmental services to existing customers and playbook to execute
  • Recruit and build a BD team to 1) lead national account sales and specialty vertical market sales and 2) oversee basic sales operations
  • Establish basic, but simple and easy to use sales process for BD, EPM’s and CRM deployment. Work with ongoing ERP deployment to determine optimal, simple CRM approach usable by current and future local businesses
  • Establish a basic sales operations function to measure KPI’s such as account penetration, pipeline, win/loss and resource optimization, simple market opportunity mapping, and lead generation supporting local BU’s
  • Create a sales incentive plan for BD, collaborating with local BU’s and Finance/HR
  • Be a highly accessible, visible, and collaborative leader. Ensure objectives are well understood and executed by team members in conjunction with local BU’s
  • Develop and disperse all actionable intelligence and reporting relative to sales activity, connecting all relevant data sources and use of managerial tools
