Technology Project Leader – New Development

This position will report directly to the Technology Manager for System Plast and will have dual roles with leadership of a major PTS NPD project breakaway team, as well as, NPD program management of the PTS Conveying NPD project decks. In addition, the individual will be expected to lead cross-functional and multi-cultural project teams to research, develop, and implement new products through the company decision point process. Candidate will also be expected to guide and mentor NPD project members and pulse projects from concept through implementation into production to achieve high success rates for NPD execution, ensuring:

Desired Skills and Experience

  • MS Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
  • Experience in Unit Material Handling or related field; specifically, warehouse hardware logistics or parcel/post
  • 3 – 5 years project leadership experience

Lead Responsibilities
  • Appropriate resources are applied to each NPD project
  • Processes are followed in accordance with the Company global NPD process and company policy
  • Programs and product requirements are defined and coordinated throughout development
  • Participate in obtaining and analyzing voice of the customer (VOC) to define product requirements and initiatives
  • Coordinate, establish and lead technical design reviews of product
Core Responsibilities
  • BS degree Mechanical Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering.
  • Demonstrated organization skills and working knowledge of the company NPD or other stage gate based NPD process
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong relationship and team-building skills
  • Individual must be proactive and have strong problem-solving skills
  • 5+ years product design experience
  • Green Belt trained
