Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer will work closely with the Manufacturing operations team and other extended Company teams as needed to deliver good quality product to our customers. Directs the daily activities of the quality team (IQC/PQC/OQC), ensures quality. In this role, you will manage the quality analysis of our production lines and its processes. This will include hardware analysis of abnormalities in mass production, the use of custom test tools to debug functional issues, product continuous improvement activities, and other aspects of our Manufacturing Quality Operations.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • A technical degree plus a minimum of 2 years’ experience in electronics engineering, manufacturing, or quality, preferably in a high tech or electronics industry.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of ISO 9001 is required
  • 4 years’ experience in any combination of Quality Assurance, manufacturing/process engineering, (preferably in electronics PCB assembly environment); OR 2-year technical diploma/certificate in Electronics with 6 years’ experience
  • Experience in performing quality audits for internal teams and vendors is strongly recommended
  • Demonstrated proficiency with industry standard quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, 8-D, Control Plans, Acceptance Sampling, Metrology-GRR, Process Capability Analysis is strongly recommended
  • Strong knowledge of IPC electronic manufacturing standards is recommended. Plus is having IPC-610 and or IPC J-STD-001certification or re-certification as a (CIT)
  • Work experience in a UL, IPC Manufacturing standards and ISO9001 is strongly desirable
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, at all levels within a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in performing quality audits for internal teams and vendors
  • Demonstrated proficiency with industry standard quality tools such as SPC, FMEA, 8-D, Control Plans, Acceptance Sampling, Metrology-GRR, Process Capability Analysis is strongly recommended
  • Strong knowledge of UL standards and testing
  • Must demonstrate excellent attention to detail and thoroughness, and sense of urgency and follow-through.

Lead Responsibilities
  • Collects data for quality performance analysis using industry standard tools
  • Conducts root cause analysis to determine reasons for production quality issues
  • Suggests corrective actions to mitigate quality related issues
  • Prepares and presents quality data reports, including companywide quality KPIs to quality management
  • Works closely with production personnel in correcting non-conformance trends
  • Works closely with production personnel on trouble shooting processes with test and Manufacturing engineers
  • Works closely with production personnel in work cells assisting with procedure training
  • Works closely with Customer Focus Team members directly supporting and interacting with customers
  • Provides support and flexibility in customer projects, objectives and deadlines beyond the normal job scope as required
  • Oversees quality performance of assigned work cells
  • Supports internal and external quality audits
  • Assist in the setup and workflow of customer work cells
  • Assist in the implementation of IPC manufacturing standards
  • Assist in the implementation of ESD standards
  • Adhere to safe working practices and perform other duties as assigned.
