Master Planner

The Ideal candidate will have 10+ YOE experience, preferably 5+ YOE in a supervisory or management role. Background in low mix / high variance production, preferably in the manufacturing industry.

This position will manage and supervise daily/weekly/monthly build schedule, inventory control, stockroom and shipping/receiving to ensure customer Requests Kept (RK)/Promised Kept (PK) are met for the Company Franksville, WI facility.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related experience, with Supply Chain Management degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10+ years of related experience in Make to order/engineer to order type manufacturing environment including production scheduling and planning.
  • Minimum 5 year of supervisory experience leading the function.
  • Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills – must be at ease interacting with others.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written, listening) and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse group of team members.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite experience, with advanced Excel skills preferred.

Lead Responsibilities
  • Thorough and in-depth knowledge of ERP Systems, Master Production Scheduling, Production Planning, and Capacity Planning
  • Create and maintain detailed master production and material plans for use in driving Material Requirements Planning (MRP) and planning production capacity to support SIOP processes.
  • Directly manage, supervise and lead Production Scheduler and hourly Stockroom and Shipping/Receiving staff.
  • Participates daily production meeting with Purchasing, Materials, Manufacturing, and Sales to identify challenges and solutions to meet customer order fulfillment dates.
  • Create a supply plan, monitor inventory levels, and manufacturing capacity as required to ensure successful delivery of forecast
  • Review actuals versus forecast and adjust planning parameters accordingly
  • Manages the RKPK (Request Kept and Promise Kept) daily report.
  • Manages and directs the activities of assigned departments to maintain performance requirements.
  • Reviews and monitors the timely confirmation and accuracy of inbound inventory, outbound shipments, and book adjustment transactions to ensure accurate inventory management records.
  • Manages the taking of physical inventories ensuring compliance and the investigation of inventory variances; directs the performance of daily/weekly cycle accounts and adjusts inventory records if necessary.
  • Provides hiring, promotion and disciplinary action recommendations, as well as performance evaluation and feedback for direct reports. Maintain safety of Employee’s while overseeing all departmental issues. Maintains proper training, staffing and scheduling of staffing.
  • Ensures completion and communication of PK reports to internal and external participants.
  • Reporting and communication on daily, weekly and monthly basis. Manage daily operation predicated on KPI’s.
  • Aids in planning, prioritizing, and managing production line maintenance or downtimes to minimize disruptions to schedules. Investigates, trouble-shoots and provides solutions to problems. Escalate issues to IT for system related issues.
  • Collaborates with the appropriate functions within the areas of responsibility to support Manufacturing and Supply Chain performance and objectives.
  • Ensures the team is functioning according to appropriate goals and objectives while continuing development of all team members. Develops and executes on time delivery, inventory turns, and inventory control, adherence to production plans, cost improvements and ensures continued employee growth through development of production planning and scheduling to meet and support customer Requests Kept (RK)/Promises Kept (PK). Supports removal of barriers to improve shipping and receiving by facilitating timely transport of goods within budgets while adhering to government regulations.
  • Manages daily/weekly/monthly build schedule to ensure customer Requests Kept (RK)/Promises Kept (PK) is met.
  • Reviews and consolidates daily customer orders to build production schedule and material requirements.
  • Identifies potential delays and proactively seeks solutions working cross-functionally with appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to drive and expedite planned builds.
  • Identifies alternate solutions to meet customer RK/PK. Reports and escalates potential and existing late customer deliveries.
  • Reviews and manages safety stock levels on internal and external parts.
  • Collaborates with planners, suppliers, and Customer Service to drive RK/PK improvements.
  • Interfaces with marketing, sales, production, planners, suppliers, and engineering managers to resolve manning, material shortages, backlogs, and potential delays while proactively seeking the cross functional resolutions.
  • Ensures item data is updated to support the appropriate safety stock/kanban levels that are needed.
  • Collaborates with cross functional teams to drive and expedite planned builds with corrective action analysis on expedites to reduce/eliminate the need for expedites in the future.
  • Determines kanban/safety stock inventory levels both internally and externally striving for minimum exposure for inventory goals, obsolescence, and Quality Assurance (QA) hold exposure.
  • Directs the daily warehouse and shipping operations.
  • Ensures volume, quality and cost goals are met.
  • Coordinates and directs the activities of the department to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality.
  • Inspects product to verify warehouse and shipping specifications are met.
  • Provides direct supervision and training of warehouse team members.
  • Investigates, trouble-shoots and provides solutions to problems.
  • Aids in planning, prioritizing, and managing production line maintenance and downtime to minimize disruptions to schedules.
