Managing Director

A Power Control Solutions Organization is looking for a Manager Director who reports to the North America – Chief Executive Officer, located in Germany. This Executive position will manage all employees located in the region, with the exception of the any special assigned employees. The ideal individual will have a firm understanding of the traditional OEM and Tier 1 automotive space as well as an equal appreciation of the non-traditional players within the growing automotive landscape. It is expected that the role has in-depth knowledge of the German automotive market and previous history of managing a German engineering product and services business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strong leadership by partnering with the Company executive management team to develop a clear three- to five-year vision for the business, communicate this vision effectively to gain the support of the staff, develop an operating plan to implement this vision, and execute the operating plan in a manner that involves and empowers the organization.

  • The Managing Director will develop a long- and short-term strategic plan to drive business growth in Germany, and then lead in delivering against both strategic and annual operating objectives.

  • Continuously examine and challenge product and service offerings in Germany, seeking innovative ways to improve, differentiate and broaden product and service offerings to introduce value to our customers.

  • Promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement that values learning and a commitment to quality.

  • Build a professional team to support long-term growth, and initiate and support necessary talent development strategies.

  • Encourage a diverse and inclusive environment.

  • Maintain consistent and timely communications with the Company North America headquarters.

  • Supply Company headquarters with appropriate reports and analyses to monitor company performance versusplan.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
LEADING AN INDUSTRIAL MANUFACTURING BUSINESS
  • Previous experience and a firm understanding of the traditional OEM and Tier 1 automotive space.
  • Past Managing Director or Regional Executive with significant and relevant global experience running complex global businesses that manufacture products with high engineering content for diverse applications and markets.
  • A standalone P&L owner who has managed businesses of equal or greater scale.

  • Experience in growing businesses and business groups through disciplined organic and inorganic strategies.
  • History of leading growth and sustainable profitability in complex and dynamic markets.
  • Previous experience in driving exceptional growth within a German organization.

Education Credentials
  • An undergraduate engineering degree is required
  • M.B.A. is preferred

  • Communication responsibilities also include delivering presentations to customers, executive management, employees, public groups.
