Sr. Commodity Manager

Our client is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager – Electronics to take ownership of sourcing strategy and supplier leadership for critical electronic components—PCBs, PCBAs, semiconductors, connectors, and relays—supporting a high-growth advanced manufacturing environment.

This role will drive global commodity strategy, optimize cost and supply performance, and ensure continuity for complex, high-value electronic materials used across our product portfolio.

Lead responsibilities

  • Lead Commodity Strategy: Develop and execute long-term sourcing strategies that align with cost, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Own Supplier Relationships: Negotiate key commercial terms, manage performance, and drive supplier excellence globally.
  • Monitor the Market: Stay ahead of trends in pricing, capacity, and risk across electronic component categories.
  • Optimize Costs: Partner cross-functionally to identify savings opportunities through value engineering and consolidation.
  • Ensure Supply Continuity: Identify and mitigate risks related to material shortages, logistics, or geopolitical disruptions.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance to align sourcing with new product development.
  • Report with Clarity: Deliver analytics and executive reporting on commodity performance, savings, and market insights.

Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business Administration
  • 7+ years in strategic sourcing or commodity management of electronic components
  • Deep understanding of PCBs, PCBAs, semiconductors, connectors, relays, and electronics manufacturing
  • Proven negotiation and supplier-management experience
  • ERP proficiency (SAP, Oracle, or IFS) and advanced analytics skills (Excel, Power BI)
  • Experience working with global suppliers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical abilities
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
