Position Summary

Our client is seeking a Transportation Sales Executive to drive growth in our climate-controlled and refrigerated (reefer) freight services. This role focuses on selling transportation solutions for perishable goods, produce, and temperature-sensitive products across the U.S. The ideal candidate has direct experience in reefer and cold chain transportation sales, with existing customer or carrier relationships in this space. Responsibilities include developing new shipper accounts, negotiating contracts, and leveraging LTL, backhaul, and full truckload opportunities to maximize utilization and profitability. This is a revenue-driving, client-facing role for a sales professional who thrives on building relationships and delivering reliable, high-quality refrigerated transportation solutions.

Primary Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development
  • Prospect and close new business with shippers requiring refrigerated (reefer) and climate-controlled transportation.
  • Sell truckload, LTL, and backhaul services for produce, perishables, and other temperature-sensitive freight.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to optimize refrigerated truck utilization and minimize empty miles.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing while meeting or exceeding monthly revenue goals.
Client & Carrier Partnerships
  • Build and manage long-term relationships with customers in food, produce, and perishable goods industries.
  • Collaborate with carriers, owner-operators, and fleet managers specializing in refrigerated transportation.
  • Maintain strong partnerships with backhaul providers to expand reefer capacity and coverage.
Market Intelligence & Growth
  • Monitor and benchmark reefer freight rates, industry trends, and seasonal demand cycles.
  • Provide market insights to internal teams to shape pricing strategies and customer solutions.
  • Maintain a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools and report regularly on performance metrics.
Execution & Performance
  • Partner with operations and dispatch teams to ensure On Time In Full (OTIF)delivery performance.
  • Serve as the escalation point for customers on service issues and provide timely solutions.
  • Support company initiatives to expand climate-controlled transportation capacity and market presence.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (not required).
  • 3+ years of transportation sales experience specifically in refrigerated (reefer) or climate-controlled logistics.
  • Proven success selling reefer truckload, LTL, and backhaul services.
  • Strong knowledge of cold chain transportation regulations and customer requirements.
  • Existing relationships with refrigerated carriers, shippers, and backhaul providers strongly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship skills.
  • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and expand market reach.
