Position Summary
Primary Responsibilities
- Design and engineer systems accurately and on schedule.
- Investigate and employ new components and technologies for use in systems.
- Confirm system design and components meet certification requirements (UL508A, CE, IEEE, etc.).
- Continuously assess design and investigate new/alternative components as applied to cost savings, quality improvement and certification requirements.
- Assist sales engineers in their effort to provide accurate quotes. Interpret quotes, communicate with customers and work with other designers/engineers to ensure systems meet expectations.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field, plus 2 years of experience, or Master’s degree in the same fields and 6 months of experience with the skill set described above. May include work experience gained while acquiring a Master’s degree.
- Design engineering experience and demonstrable technical knowledge of low voltage variable speed drives, motors, filters, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with power electronics, electrical packaging (enclosures), and printed circuit designs.
- Experience and understanding of motion control theory and algorithms.
- Awareness of various electrical control components and selection criteria as it relates to cost, certifications and quality.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Strong commitment to customer service and teamwork.
- Availability to travel to support sales and investigate issues at customer installations.
- Good communication skills (oral, written and listening) and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse groups of professionals.
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite of tools.
