Regional Sales Manager

 We are seeking a driven and experienced Regional Sales Manager to lead sales efforts within our Midwest and Upper Midwest territory. This is a hunter role requiring a true business development mindset, focused on identifying and securing new business opportunities within with manufacturers, OEMs, and machine shops. The ideal candidate will be a proven sales closer with a track record of exceeding targets and building strong, long-lasting customer relationships. This position requires a strong technical understanding of the casting process and the ability to effectively communicate the value proposition of our products. The Regional Sales Manager will be based within the Midwest/Upper Midwest territory to effectively serve our existing clients and develop new business.

Lead Responsibilities

  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Actively identify and qualify potential customers within the target market (foundries, OEMs, and machine shops) through various methods, including cold calling, networking, industry events, and online research.
  • Onsite Sales and Relationship Building: Conduct face-to-face sales meetings with prospective and existing clients, building rapport and understanding their specific needs and challenges. This will require travel within the assigned territory.
  • Solution Selling: Develop and present customized casting solutions that address the customer’s requirements, highlighting the company’s strengths in quality, expertise, and delivery.
  • Technical Understanding: Demonstrate a solid understanding of the casting process, materials (gray iron, ductile iron, austempered ductile iron), and applications to effectively communicate with technical personnel at customer organizations.
  • Sales Growth: Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets within the territory. Develop and execute sales strategies to maximize market penetration and grow market share.
  • Account Management: Manage and nurture existing customer relationships to ensure ongoing satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate and up-to-date sales pipeline, 1 tracking leads, opportunities, and sales activities using CRM software.  
  • Market Analysis: Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and customer demands to identify new business opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Reporting: Provide regular sales reports, including sales forecasts, market analysis, and competitive updates, to management.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or 10 years of experience.
    • Proven track record of successful sales experience in the industrial manufacturing industry, preferably with experience selling related products.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
    • Hunter mentality with a proven ability to prospect and close deals.
    • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
    • Willingness to travel extensively within the Midwest and Upper Midwest territory primarily with occasional travel to other parts of the US.  No international travel required.
    • Proficiency in CRM software.
    • Must reside within the Midwest/Upper Midwest region.
